The ICDT held an online discussion via webex platform on May 23, 2016 in the framework of the project titled Institutional Reform of Ukraine's Energy Sector in the Context of Its Integration into the EU Market – supported by the International Visegrad Fund.
The attendants were Mr. Peter Golias, Director of INEKO (Slovakia), Mr. András Deák, Senior Research Fellow of the Centre for Economic and Regional Studies HAS, Institute of World Economics (Hungary) and Mr. Victor Logatskiy, Leading Expert of the Razumkov Centre (Ukraine).
The participants have compared the main attributes of the energy sector of each V4 country and Ukraine. The experts have also outlined the importance of some political and professional entities regarding Ukraine's energy sector.
The project aims to create the foundation for Ukraine’s energy sector institutional reform for deepening its integration into the EU energy market. By convening local and V4 energy security experts, it will create the preconditions for establishing a modern market-oriented institutional structure meeting the requirements of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, the Treaty Establishing the Energy Community and the EU Energy Package criteria 2 and 3.
