Minister Martonyi Highlighting ICDT’s Role in Democratic Transition

Hungary’s Minister of Foreign Affairs János Martonyi participated in the Ministerial Meeting of the Community of Democracies (CoD) in New York on 22 September 2011. Minister Martonyi praised the work of the ICDT that has been designated as the supporting institution for the Democracy Partnership Challenge initiative, a new instrument of the CoD to encourage reform in countries emerging from authoritarian rule. He also highlighted the importance of two recent projects of the ICDT, one aimed to assess the possible creation of a Dniestr/Nistru Euroregion and another surveying the feasibility of a Civil Society Fund for the Eastern Partnership Countries.
