The Pro Domo Club, a joint initiative of the ICDT and the Hungarian Institute of International Affairs (HIIA) aims to be a new forum to assess Hungarian foreign policy and foreign-economic interests in the world through a series of roundtable discussions on various topics.
The first episode of the Club titled “Hungarian Interests in a Changing North Africa” was held on 19 March at the Hungarian Institute of International Affairs. The event was opened by HIIA Director Mr. Botond Zákonyi and ICDT President Amb. László Várkonyi. In the analysis of the current situation of the region, Ms. Erzsébet N. Rózsa talked about the political structures and the bi- and multilateral relations between the region and the European Union, including Hungary. Mr. Pál Toma, Senior Foreign Advisor of the Hungarian Export Import Bank Private Company Limited (Eximbank) highlighted the investment opportunities in connection with the Hungarian business activities in the region. A number of acknowledged experts, investors, foreign officials were present at the event and shared their thoughts on the topics and participated in an active and lively debate that followed the keynote speeches.
