Ninth Meeting of the Governmental Advisory Board Held in Budapest

The ninth meeting of the Governmental Advisory Board of the ICDT was held in Budapest on May 7, 2012. The Governmental Advisory Board plays an important role and serves as an organized form of communication of the ICDT with the democratic governments of the world.

Besides the Ambassadors and other representatives of more than twenty-five countries and international organizations, Ms. Lilla Makkay, Head of Department for International Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Hungary also took part in the event and welcomed the participants.

Following the opening remarks of Amb. Prof. István Gyarmati, President of the Centre for Democracy Public Foundation, Amb. László Várkonyi, President and CEO of the ICDT introduced the Centre’s programmatic achievements during 2011 and priorities for 2012.

Mr. Dániel Bartha, Vice President for Strategy and Ms. Annamária Kékesi, Development Director presented the ongoing and planned activities in the Western Balkans, the „Arab Spring” countries, Afghanistan, Moldova, and in some other target areas.
