The International Centre for Democratic Transition organizes a conference to present the results of its project titled Democratic Consciousness in C-E Europe-Identity and Differences between the V4 countries and Ukraine
In March, this year the International Centre for Democratic Transition launched a project titled Democratic Consciousness in C-E Europe-Identity and Differences between the V4 countries and Ukraine, which's purpose is to support democratic changes and enhance the European Integration of Ukraine by using the V4 experience in changing public attitudes towards democratic values and in the confidence of the society in public institutions. As a part of the project GfK Hungary a performed a research on the development of democracy in the Visegrad countries and carried out an opinion pool in Ukraine, which included 1000 respondents, in July.
The analysis and comparison of the results with the tendencies earlier examined in our region allowed the Centre and its project partners to specify some of the most typical features of the Ukrainian population's attitude towards democratic values and institutions.
On the 16th December, 2014 the Centre organizes a conference under the title "Democracy in Ukraine - On the Right Path?" in Budapest, where we intend to present the results of the research and the project's findings to a greater public. At the same time, we will also host an expert session featuring Ukrainian and V4 experts to discuss the perspectives of Ukraine's democratic reforms in light of the ongoing crisis.
The conference will take place in Budapest, in the Radisson Blu Béke Hotel from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
