Concluding Consultations Held in Chisinau on Establishing a Twinning Moldovan-Hungarian Ombudsman Office

As the forthcoming, reformed law on the Ombudsman Institution in the Republic of Moldova is being adopted, representatives of the ICDT have conducted various meetings with the prospect of the prolongation and extension of the existing positive relationship between the Hungarian and Moldovan Ombudsman offices, involving several supporting local institutions from the non-governmental side, as well.

The mutually accepted agreement of the two Ombudsman institutions on future cooperation and development – mediated by the ICDT with the remarkable support of the Hungarian Embassy in Chisinau and the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs – will not only strengthen the ties between the two countries, but an improved Ombudsman institution could hopefully foster the European integration aspirations of Moldova.

The project is supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Hungary.
