Kick-off Meeting of the CIVex Project Held in Tiraspol

The ICDT launched its new project titled CIVex Moldova, supported by the International Visegrad Fund (IVF), in partnership with the Czech Women Union, the Polish Women's Foundation eFKa, and the NGO Interaction from Tiraspol.

The project aims to improve the collaborative and project management capacity of gender focused civil society organizations in and between Moldova and Transnistria region by sharing best practices and lessons learned from other V4 NGOs. The project will enhance the capacity of local CSOs in gender mainstreaming, gender equality, children’s rights, and fighting against human trafficking, to better serve their community and collaborate with regional partners.

As the kick-start of the project, the ICDT and its partners organized an introductory workshop on April 22 in Tiraspol, where the representatives of the selected target organizations listened to lectures on the gender related experience of the V4 countries and got engaged in an active discussion. Mgr. Jana Chrzová, Chair of the Czech Women Union and Dr. Slawomira Walczewska, Co-chair of the Women's Foundation eFKa introduced the current situation of the gender issues in the Czech Republic and Poland. Ms. Annamária Kékesi, Development Director of the ICDT acquainted the participants with the most important legal documents. Furthermore, Ms. Oxana Alistratova, President of the NGO Interaction involved them in a lively discussion, exchangeing their experience and views on the gender issues in Transnistria and Moldova.

The special feature of the project is the application of an online learning management system (LMS) that enables the participants to attend webinars and interact with each other and the lecturers from various geographical locations. In the upcoming months, a number of online seminars will be held to train the participants and engage them in further discussions to broaden their knowledge and improve their skills in various fields necessary to better perform their activities. Preparations for the webinars were also carried out at the kick-off meeting and Mr. István Csákány, advisor of the ICDT familiarized the participants with the technical side of the online sessions.
