„Euroregions are very important structures of the European Union, which bring together the interests of different nations and facilitate the solution of common problems.” – Amb. Ian Tombinski, Head of the European Delegation to Ukraine stated in his welcome speech at the Vinnytsia National Technical University during an international conference.
ICDT organized the final event of the “Capacity Building of the Dniester/Nistru Euroregion” project on September 25, 2013, in Vinnytsia, Ukraine. The international conference brought to an end the project’s main aim, namely to develop and introduce the strategy of the Dniester Euroregion.
In 2012, ICDT launched the project with a perspicuous goal: to develop a mid-term strategy of the Euroregion, in cooperation with the Prague-based Institute for Stability and Development and the staff of the Coordination Centre of the Dniester Euroregion.
The experiences of the joint work gained in the past years are essential for the future of the Euroregion and the ICDT, as well. During the series of workshops, study trips, and conferences the experts, the partner organization, and the organizers all focused on the common aim beyond the project: to bring together communities and strengthen people-to-people diplomacy.
